Why us?
Quality Control
We have long been members of Accreditation UK, the quality-assurance scheme that monitors UK schools, colleges and universities offering courses in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The scheme checks and improves the standards of providers’ teaching, management, facilities and welfare provision. It is administered by English UK and the British Council. Our ISIS Summer Centres were fully inspected during the summer of 2010, and we consider membership of the scheme to be paramount to our success
Our Staff
All of our staff are recruited according to British Council guidelines and in line with our own extensive experience of what makes a good residential school teacher or activity leader. We benefit from a very high proportion of returning management staff. In 2010, 80% of our Centre Managers, Activity Managers and Directors of Studies had worked for us before and contributed to the smooth and effective running of our centres.
We select experienced and well qualified teachers to judge the competition to ensure a fair and balanced assessment of each student’s and school’s performance.
Welfare
Whilst in the UK, students on our courses are our responsibility. We are strongly committed to this responsibility and, as an organisation, are very involved in developing and promoting student welfare. We are one of the founder members of Young Learners EnglishUK, a Special Interest Group of EnglishUK committed to promoting quality for juniors (7-17yrs) whist providing the highest standards of student welfare, accommodation, management, teaching and leisure activities.
How do we ensure the welfare of our students?
We take our duty of care very seriously and offer a high level of welfare to all our students. Each centre has a dedicated Welfare and Students Services Manager and a Student Advice Bureau (SAB) which students can visit for advice or information.
We have first-aid qualified staff available at all times and a very thorough student induction ensures that all students know our emergency procedures and who to contact, 24 hours a day, in the event of an emergency. Student welfare is covered in detail during our staff training.
To ensure student welfare we need the support of all accompanying teachers. We ask you to help us make sure that students understand the emergency procedures and standards of behaviour expected. Importantly, as these are junior programmes, attendance on all parts of the course is compulsory.
Arrivals and transfers
All schools will be met at the airport by an ISIS staff member and brought back to the college by private transport. Upon arrival you will be welcomed to the centre by a senior member of staff, who will also give you key information about the centre and try to answer any of your immediate questions.
